The Xcel Energy Center and the Minnesota Wild welcome the San Jose Sharks to town on Thursday.
The San Jose Sharks look to string the wins together when they visit the Xcel Energy Center Thursday when they face the Wild. The Sharks picked up back to back wins with a 3-2 victory at Colorado on Tuesday night in a shootout. Logan Couture and Brent Burns scored with Joe Pavelski and Patrick Marleau tallied in the SO to secure the victory for Antti Niemi who recorded 31 stops. The Avalanche received goals from Gabriel Landeskog and Alex Tanguay but the story of the game was a spectacular 49 save performance from Semyon Valamov who single handedly kept his team in the game especially in the opening frame where he stopped a whopping 23 shots.

Minnesota shoots for consecutive victories when the San Jose Sharks visit the Xcel Energy Center. The Wild are coming in off of a 4-3 road win versus the Boston Bruins which was a great rebound from a 5-4 loss to the Rangers where New York scored five times in the third to erase a 3-0 deficit. It was Minnesota that did all the scoring in the final frame with a three goal burst to negate a 3-1 hole. Marco Scandella notched the winner with Zach Parise, Nino Niederreiter and Justin Fontaine also finding the back of the net with Niklas Backstrom posting 25 stops to pick up the victory. Seth Griffith paced the Bruins attack with a pair of tallies with Milan Lucic also scoring with both players adding assists. That wasn't enough with Tuukka Rask allowing all three goals on 38 shots to take the defeat.
The over is 4-0 in Sharks last 4 Thursday games with the under going 4-0 in Sharks last 4 vs. Western Conference while the Sharks are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. Western Conference. For Minnesota the under is 7-0 in Wild last 7 vs. Western Conference with the Wild going 4-0 in their last 4 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation and 7-0 in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. Head to head the Sharks are 0-6 in the last 6 meetings in Minnesota and are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings while the home team is 19-7 in the last 26 meetings. San Jose has struggled at Minnesota but the Wild have been up and down the last few times out. Please check back Thursday when I see goalies and dig in to this...
