Colorado Avalanche vs. Vancouver Canucks - 11/4/14 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Canucks will look to continue their ascent up the Pacific division standings with a victory on Tuesday night in Colorado despite coming off a loss in their last outing but with a win they can move to within two points of the Ducks for the top spot in the division. Vancouver had a very tough season a year ago and missed the playoffs for the first time in what seems like a century but under new management both in the press box, behind the bench, and on the ice the Canucks look like a team on a mission to get back to the postseason. The team fired former general manager Mike Gillis and head coach John Tortorella and brought in Jim Benning and Willie Desjardins to take over and so far the move has looked great as has bringing in Ryan Miller to be the team's new starting net minder. All three parties will look to contribute to their team's success on Tuesday night as they head into Denver to take on a struggling Avalanche team that needs to get things going.

The Avalanche have had a rough start to the season but have plenty of time to turn things around and a confidence boosting win on home ice against a very good Canucks team could be the ticket for this team to get back on track. The Avs have split their first six games at home this season going 2-2-2 which is a cause for concern as the Canucks are 4-2 on the road and are going with Miller here who has just one loss on the season and has looked very strong in the Vancouver crease. Semyon Varlamov was a huge part of the team's success last season as his numbers were out of this world and now that they have dropped back to normal a little bit the team has suffered and unless they can find another way to win they're going to be in hot water. I have no idea why we are getting the Canucks at plus value especially if Miller starts but we won't question it and will gladly take Vancouver here.

Cannot disagree with this pick, sorry Kyle and Mitch. I am your guy up here for Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. Love the site though. Loyal guy here. Three key guys out here, I correct my tweet. One guy injured on the Big D. Two role guys out. I don't see a revenge after a blow out. Colorado always good at home against the Nuck's.
