The Line: Calgary Flames / New Jersey Devils --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The New Jersey Devils and Calgary Flames square off Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The New Jersey Devils have split their last four games and are hanging around in their division. The Devils are playing a lot better defense, allowing 2.9 goals on the season but producing two shutouts in their last four contests. The New Jersey Devils  have won six of their last nine games when allowing three or more goals. A lot of this success has come on the power play, as the Devils haven’t allowed a pp goal in five straight games. Cory Schneider has allowed 49 goals on 572 shots faced. Offensively, Mike Cammalleri leads New Jersey with seven goals, Jaromir Jagr has nine assists and Michael Ryder has 43 shots on goal. This is the third straight road game for the New Jersey Devils, and they’ve lost five of their last seven away from home.

The Calgary Flames have won five of their last eight games and are in the heart of the Pacific division. The Flames are an offensive machine that’s producing three goals per game on the season and 16 goals in their last four games. The Calgary Flames are 11-1 this season when scoring at least three goals, and they’ve scored three power play goals in their last three games. Sean Monahan and Dennis Wideman have combined for 16 goals, Mark Giordano has 16 assists and Paul Byron has 32 shots on goal. Defensively, Calgary is allowing 2.7 goals and has given up a pp goal in four of its last five games. Jonas Hiller has allowed 36 goals on 420 shots and Karri Ramo has given up 18 goals on 186 shots faced.

The Devils are 7-19 in their last 26 vs. Western Conference and 5-16 in their last 21 vs. Pacific. The Flames are 4-1 in their last 5 home games and 7-3 in their last 10 overall. The Devils are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Calgary and 1-4 in the last 5 meetings overall.

I'm going with the better overall team at home that isn't coming off a back-to-back. Calgary should continue to beat up New Jersey like it has in the past.
