The Edmonton are stealing headlines once again in the early going this season but once again they are for all the wrong reasons as the team has the worst mark in the league and rumors of blowing the team up are already starting to surface. The Oilers have been going through a rebuild for the better part of five years and regardless of who and where they draft they can't seem to find any spark mainly at the back end and as such the product on the ice has been horrendous. Players have come out and criticized the way things have gone and with their 7-1 thrashing at the hands of the Blackhawks being the final straw the fans let loose on the team pelting them with boos en route to the dressing room. The Oil need to sort it out in a hurry if they want to keep this group together but even then it might be too late and perhaps the team needs a change in order to start moving forward. Ben Scrivens will likely get the start tonight as he will go up against Kari Lehtonen.
The Stars meanwhile will look to make it three wins in a row tonight and they are pretty heavy favourites to do so but at the moment it seems like everyone is a favourite against the Oilers. Dallas was a team many expected to challenge in the Western Conference this season but if they're going to do so they need to find a way to keep the puck of their net as they are second worst in the league with 72 goals allowed with the Oilers being the only one worse at 74. Dallas has tons of talent in the offensive zone and have a bunch more on the way on their blue line but the biggest question mark has been the play of Kari Lehtonen between the pipes as the once stable shut down force has become somewhat of a liability and hasn't been as reliable so far this season, something that could ultimately hamper how far this team will go this season. Dallas hasn't been good at home this season and I don't want to lay this price with a team under .500 so I think the best move is to go to the total and without going into too much detail it is easy to see that with the talent levels up front and the blue lines being a bit shaky this game should soar over the total with ease.
