The Hurricanes and Panthers meet up in Florida on Wednesday in a matchup between two of the weaker teams in the NHL.

Florida Panthers vs. Carolina Hurricanes - 11/26/14 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Hurricanes will look to end a mini two game slide with a road win in Florida on Wednesday night but for a Carolina side that is 2-8-2 away from home this season it might be tough to come by even against a team like Florida who hasn't been a world beater by any means. Carolina is in for a long season and while they looked as though they had turned a corner a little over a week ago they are still a sub par squad that will likely be in the running for a top end draft pick in July where they will hopefully land a franchise changing talent in the form of Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel. The Canes do have some talented players but I think they will likely ship some of them out by season's end but until that time this group has to make do and in Florida on Wednesday night they'll have to find a way to solve Roberto Luongo.

The Panthers couldn't pull off the upset over the Minnesota Wild in their last outing by have a chance to move two games above .500 with a win here tonight against the lowly Hurricanes. The Cats sit in 7th place in the Atlantic division but that is a bit misleading as they have as many as four games in hand on some of their division rivals and if they can make up some points in games like tonight than Florida could surprise a lot of people and make a push at the Eastern Conference playoffs. Florida is a young team but are talented and while they are likely a year or two away from becoming relevant and challenging for a division title it'll certainly be fun to watch the process as guys like Aaron Ekblad, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Nic Bjugstad are the future of the game. The Panthers are getting good value here and to me are the better team and I think they get it done with ease here against the Canes.
