The Maple Leafs look for their third win in a row as they head into Pittsburgh on Wednesday night to face the unenviable task of playing against Sidney Crosby and the Penguins.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs - 11/26/14 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Maple Leafs are one of the most highly scrutinized franchises in North American sports and they always seem to draw the attention for better or worse from the media and a victory on the road against the Penguins would likely continue that trend once again. The Leafs have been inconsistent to start the season and as such find themselves in fifth place in the Atlantic division and are trying to hold off the Sens and Panthers for that spot. Toronto is a team that has the makeup of a playoff contender especially in the Eastern Conference as there is so much uncertainty aside from the top two or three teams and while the Penguins fall into that elite group you can't take any nights off and the Buds know this would be a huge momentum boost for them if they can grab two points away from the Pens. Jonathan Bernier is expected to start as he will go up against Marc-Andre Fleury.

The Penguins continue to be the class of the Eastern Conference as they sit atop the Metro division with 30 points but are in a battle with the Islanders in what is quickly becoming a two horse race as the next closest competitor is the Rangers who are a solid eight points back. Pittsburgh has been able to find success without some key pieces from team's past as James Neal, Brooks Orpik, and Matt Niskanen have moved on but a rebound season from Fleury and a strong offensive core has the Penguins right back in the Cup chase and they should remain in contention for the President's Trophy all season. However, this to me looks like the type of game where the Maple Leafs show up and prove once again you can't ever know which team is going to show up and at the very least I think the Buds can push this to overtime if not win outright.
