The Blue Jackets have had a tough start to the season and things don't appear to be getting any better despite a recent two game surge as they sit in the bottom of the Metropolitan division and are in the running for the worst record in hockey. Columbus had a lot of optimism coming into the season but disappointing campaigns from Ryan Johansen and Sergei Bobrovsky has the team in shambles and while there is still time to turn things around especially in the uncertain and wide open Metro division I don't think this is the year for the Jackets. Columbus will look to upend the Lightning and are massive underdogs here but for good reason as Tampa has asserted themselves as one of the best in the game while the Jackets are more likely at this rate to land a top draft pick than a spot in the postseason. Bobrovsky is slated to suit up as he will go up against Vezina contender Ben Bishop.
The Lightning have been one of the best teams in the league and with the way this team battled in last year's playoffs and the success they found without a healthy Steven Stamkos I don't think too many people can say they were surprised. Tampa has a lot of young talent with a nice balance of veteran leaders and as such they sit atop the Atlantic division and are right in the mix in the President's Trophy race – a spot they will likely stay in as the season progresses. Ben Bishop has been absurd in the Tampa Bay crease and I think he continues to find success and in this spot I don't think there is much to think about other than locking in with Tampa and taking them in regulation or on the puck line for better odds.
