The Jets have been playing some of the franchise's best hockey since moving back to Winnipeg from Atlanta a few years ago and after a lengthy playoff drought the city could very well get meaningful hockey back at the MTS Centre as early as this April. Winnipeg has had a pretty good start to the year sitting in fourth place in the Central division and are 14-9-5 on the year giving them a very respectable 33 points in 28 games. The Jets will be without forward Evander Kane for the next two games after being suspended for a hit on Anaheim's Clayton Stoner which takes away an offensive scoring weapon that are few and far between on this Jets team but they have the resiliency and depth to allow someone to step up and fill the void though the Jets are already down two pieces in Tobi Enstrom and Zach Bogosian on the back end. Ondrej Pavelec is expected to start and he will go up against Kari Lehtonen for the Stars who have allowed a league worst 95 goals this season.
Dallas is underachieving to put it lightly at the moment as they were expected to take a huge step forward this year after making some moves in the offseason but Jason Spezza nor Ales Hemsky have been able to find chemistry in their new environment and as such the team has faltered. The Stars will look to pull within a game of the .500 mark and keep the Colorado Avalanche in the basement in the process as they are one point up on the Avs who are charging fast after a very slow start. Dallas is a tough team to figure out as they have two of the best players in the game today in Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn but their defense and goaltending has been shaky as indicated by their total goals allowed and that is very worrisome moving forward. If the Jets were healthy here I would jump all over them but without the three guys mentioned earlier I think they have too many holes and I think the Stars at home can play a solid game and come away victorious.
