The Ducks dropped a 6-2 decision on the road in Toronto in their last outing and now take on another Eastern Canada foe in the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday in what some are calling a potential preview of the Stanley Cup Finals. Anaheim has been the model of consistency in the Western Conference so far this season and have a lot to show for it as they are clinging on to not only the division lead but the top record in the NHL and with a win here against the Canadiens they would demonstrate great resolve and show that they can respond after a tough loss. Frederik Andersen is expected to get the call between the pipes as he will go up against Carey Price in what should be an exciting goaltender battle.
The Canadiens have responded nicely after a tough road trip by winning their last three contests and now have a chance to run it to four with a win tonight against Anaheim. The Habs are always a tough team to play in Montreal and this season is no different as they're 12-3-1 at the Bell Centre and while Anaheim is 11-4-2 on the road this match up has to favour Montreal as they will have the fan support which in a tight game like this can make all the difference. On paper though the Ducks are the better team in my opinion and despite some very solid options for Montreal I think Anaheim has the depth to keep the Habs in check and if Anaheim can weather the storm here in the first 10 minutes of the game than I think they will settle down and start to play their game. In the end, I think the Anaheim depth will be the difference and at this price they are more than worth it.
