The Canucks look for their second win in as many nights after blanking the Flyers in Philly last night as they head into Carolina to take on the Hurricanes.

The Canucks got back in the win column on Thursday night and they did it in style holding the Flyers off the scoresheet as Ryan Miller returned to action with a shutout and the Canucks jumped back into second place in the ever changing layout of the Pacific division. Vancouver had a complete team effort where a number of players could have been recognized as the player of the game and it was something the Canucks needed after dropping three straight games and feeling their playoff security start to slip. Vancouver gets right back to work on Friday though as they head into Raleigh to take on the Hurricanes who have won five of 10 but still sit in the basement of the Metro division. Miller will likely get the call again after having a few days off and Vancouver having Saturday off and he will go up against Cam Ward for Carolina.
The Hurricanes have had a tough go this season and things don't get any easier on Friday as they welcome the Canucks to town who have been brilliant on the road this season. Carolina as mentioned sits at the bottom of the Metropolitan division and will almost certainly be missing out on playoff hockey this year but it could prove to be a blessing in disguise as they will likely accumulate some assets and draft picks at the trade deadline though it could spell the end of a couple of Canes who have made their entire careers in Raleigh. Cam Ward has been spectacular since he first got to Raleigh and Eric Staal has been the face of the franchise for years but both could be moved this year as the team looks to build for the future and with the draft picks available this year it could mean a franchise talent is on its way to town. As for tonight though the Canes are just in a tough place as the Canucks are back in the win column and should cruise to victory once again in this spot.
