The NHL will be dialing things back a bit schedule-wise tonight, but we’ll still be getting a half-dozen games in the coming hours. With that in mind, let’s take our daily look around the league and see which players are making headlines this morning.

Tuukka Rask, G, Boston Bruins: Rask made some clutch saves against the Rangers in Boston last night, posting 30 stops in a shutout effort. The result was a big 3-0 win for the Bruins, who move to 24-15-6 on their fifth win in a row.
Boston also passes New York in the Eastern Conference standings. The Rangers are 24-13-4 and have not scored in two games.

Jason Pominville, RW, Minnesota Wild: Speaking of scoring, the Wild had no problems doing that against the Sabres in Buffalo last night. Pominville posted three assists in the 7-0 blowout at First Niagara Center, while Devan Dubnyk made saves on all 18 shots.
The victory stops a six-game losing skid for the Wild, who are now 19-19-5 on the season. They’ve won just three of their past 15 games (3-8-4).
Meanwhile, Buffalo has lost nine consecutive games in regulation, a franchise record. They’re 14-28-3 on the season.

Ryan Miller, G, Vancouver Canucks: While we’re talking about shutouts, let’s go ahead and visit the third one from last night’s games. Miller stopped all 30 shots that came his way to help his Canucks to a 4-0 victory at Wells Fargo Center last night against the Flyers. Henrik Sedin added a goal and an assist, while Daniel Sedin posted a pair of helpers.
The Canucks are now 24-15-3 on the season and end a three-game losing streak. The Flyers move to 17-21-7 thus far.

Justin Braun, D, San Jose Sharks: Despite a valiant effort by Toronto goalie James Reimer, the Sharks were able to post a nice 3-1 victory over the Maple Leafs at SAP Center last night.
Braun put up two assists, while winger Patrick Marleau halted his scoring skid with a goal. He had been 16 games without one coming in, matching a career-high.
Meanwhile, Reimer stopped 39 of 41 shots in a very busy evening.
