The Canucks are coming off one of their most impressive victories of the season as they blanked the Penguins by a 5-0 final on Saturday night and now they head to the road to face one of the league's hottest teams in the Minnesota Wild. Vancouver has enjoyed a rebound season that is likely to be sealed with a playoff berth but nothing is certain in the Western Conference as a ton of teams are in the mix including the Wild who have recovered nicely from a slow start to the season and a lot of that recent success has to do with the play of Devan Dubnyk. Ryan Miller will get the call in the crease for the Canucks who can pull back to a tie with the Sharks in the division with a victory but against Dubnyk the Canucks know they are facing a tough task.
The Wild have been on fire of late and can continue their push towards the postseason with another statement victory this time at home against Vancouver. Minny has won five in a row and are starting to play like the team many expected them to puck from the puck drop in October and heading into tonight they sit five points back of the Flames for the second and final wild card spot in the Conference. Minnesota is a very solid team and have beem known to play a very tough game on home ice but this is a potential revenge spot for Vancouver as they were upended by the Wild at the beginning of their winning streak and you can bet they have two points on their minds in what should be a great contest. Minny's winning ways have to end at some point and while Vancouver is getting great value on the road I just like the matchup here for the Wild in what I see being a low scoring final.
