The Blackhawks look to complete the Florida sweep after a win in Sunrise last night as they head into Tampa Bay to face off against the Lightning.

The Blackhawks were dealt a serious blow this week after it was learned that the league;s point leader and former first overall draft pick Patrick Kane would be sidelined for 10-12 weeks with a shoulder injury and their playoff push took a serious tumble as well. However, the Hawks played very well in the first game post Kane as they blanked the Florida Panthers who are in the midst of a playoff push themselves and now they have a chance to leave Florida with four poitns and two pivotal wins against Eastern Conference playoff hopefuls. The Hawks currently sit in third place in the Central division and if the playoffs started today they would sneak in to a road series with the St. Louis Blues in the first round in what would shape up to be an instant classic. Corey Crawford is expected to get the call but we could also see Scott Darling who has been playing very well of late as well.
The Lightning meanwhile are in the mix in the Atlantic division and sit five points back of the Montreal Canadiens for top spot and they too would be in the playoffs if it started today but in a home ice matchup against the Detroit Red Wings. Tampa has been a consistent bunch all season long and has broken through after their disappointing playoff exit last season and if they can make some moves before Tuesday's trade deadline and bring in a piece or two to push them over the edge they could very well challenge for the Eastern Conference title. Tampa is coming off a loss but they catch the Hawks in a back to back and while Chicago at plus money is always a tempting option I do think that playing on back to back nights against a team of Tampa's caliber could prove to be difficult without the top player in the league right now. Take the Lightning at home.
