The Winnipeg Jets are on a tear right now and are really doing their best to make sure they get into the Western Conference playoffs and a win on Tuesday night would go a long way into securing their spot. The Jets have won five games in a row heading into Tuesday night and while they are unlikely to catch the Blackhawks for a spot in the Central division bracket they are right in the mix with the Wild for wild card seeding but at the moment it looks like they will catch either the Ducks, Blues, or Preds in the opening round. The Jets have a nice makeup to their team and have moved on from their on and off ice distraction in Evander Kane who was sidelined with a knee injury but he has ben shipped to Buffalo nonetheless. Winnipeg will ikely turn to Mike Hutchinson here but with the way Ondrej Pavelec has played of late don't be surprised if they stay with him for the final stretch and ride the hot hand.
The Canucks are a funny team as they haven't been the group of year's past where they have been dominant offensively or utilized their team speed but they are right in the mix in the Western Conference and are four points up on third place Calgary with 10 games remaining. Vancouver still has a lot of the pieces that have made them successful over the years and while the Sedin's haven't put up the number they did at the start of the decade they are certainly still great play makers and the team will go as far as they can take them. Eddie Lack has been called upon to lead this group into the playoffs as Ryan Miller remains sidelined and he has done a great job at filling in and looks like he will have his first taste of playoff hockey this season. While I am tempted to take the Jets here for the value I think the smarter play is the total and with the Jets playing in a back to back and both teams playing for a playoff spot I see this one staying well under the total.
