The New York Rangers look to snap a two game losing streak when they travel to Winnipeg to take on the Jets on Tuesday night.
For the Rangers there hasn’t been too much to complain about the last few months. New York has consistently won hockey games and found ways to snap losing streaks quickly. It has rocketed them up the standings and put them in a place where they’ve already got their post season berth wrapped up.

If the Rangers are looking to make a significant run into June again this year, they’ll need to clean up some of the mistakes that have plagued them the last few outings.
New York was dominated in Boston on Saturday afternoon against the Bruins, and Sunday with Cam Talbot back in net things didn’t get any better.
The Rangers controlled play for most of the first period, but only held a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of play thanks to a goal from Alex Ovechkin.
Washington was able to even things up and with the game tied 2-2 heading into the third it was the Capitals who seized control. The Capitals were a step quicker all over the ice and for the second day in a row the Rangers saw a club that was more desperate really take it to them.
New York is tied for second in the National Hockey League in goals against average per game, but that’s a total of nine goals given up in the last two games. Heading into Winnipeg to take on a Jets club that’s just as desperate as Boston and Washington might not bode well.
Winnipeg has lost two of their last three games overall and now find themselves just two points ahead of the Los Angeles Kings for the final wild card berth, with the Kings owning a game in hand.
There might not be a more painful way to lose a game than how it occurred on Sunday for the Jets. Winnipeg took a 3-2 lead with them into the third period but the Blackhawks would tie things up and score the game winner with just 31 seconds left in regulation.
Winnipeg’s inability to at least get that game to overtime and gain a point might end up being the difference in their season. The Jets will be energized on Tuesday night and looking to make up for that result when they face the Rangers.
New York is one of the better teams in the league but they have not been playing like it the last week. These teams that are desperate to win have been taking it to them lately and Winnipeg fits into that category perfectly.
