The Anaheim Ducks hope to lock up the top seed in the Western Conference against the Arizona Coyotes in the season finale’.
The Anaheim Ducks could have secured the top seed in the Western Conference with a victory over visiting Dallas Wednesday. However the Stars who are out of the postseason played as if they hair was on fire in a 4-0 rout for their third consecutive victory an 15th in 18 contests. Jhonas Enroth recorded the whitewash with a 19 save performance while Patrick Eaves paced the attack with two goals while Jordie Benn and Vernon Fidler also lit the lamp. The Ducks rested Ryan Getzlaf for the second straight game for the postseason but now must decide whether to play their captain in the final game of the year with a regulation or overtime win still enough to win the West.

The Arizona Coyotes won’t be in the postseason but they can end the year on a positive note by knocking off the visiting Anaheim Ducks and sending the Gila River Arena crowd home with a smile. If the Coyotes are to upset the Ducks they will need to be much more competitive then we saw in Thursday’s 5-0 loss at Vancouver. The offense could not solve Canucks netminder Eddie Lack who posted 28 saves for shutout number two on the year. Mike Smith was not as effective with four goals given up on 24 shots before getting the hook in favor of Louis Domingue in the third who was touched for another goal on eight shots. The Canucks received a pair of tallies from Tannick Weber with Dan Hamhuis, Daniel Sedin and Ronalds Kennis also scoring
The under is 5-0 in Ducks last 5 Saturday games with the over is 7-1 in Ducks last 8 following a home loss of 3 or more goals while Anaheim are 5-1 in their last 6 games following a home loss of 3 or more goals. The Coyotes are 0-6 in their last 6 versus a team with a winning % above .600 with the under going 5-0 in Coyotes last 5 following a loss of 3 or more goals while Arizona are 0-4 in their last 4 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game. Head to head the under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings while the Ducks are 7-2 in the last 9 meetings. I’m still waiting for a line but I can say I don’t like either team; Arizona because of their play and Anaheim because they are over rated and dumb for not playing Getzlaf with the West still up for grabs…
