The Line: St. Louis Blues -140 / Minnesota Wild +120 --- Over/Under: 5 See the Latest Odds

The Minnesota Wild will be at the Scottrade Center for game two of the quarterfinals with the St Louis Blues.

The Minnesota Wild were supposed to have difficulty putting the puck in the net at St Louis but that didn’t happen in Thursday’s opening game 4-2 victory. The trick is to duplicate this performance in game two but as they say they will take this one game at a time. The hard nose defense and goaltending of Devan Dubnyk controlled the scoreboard with both goals allowed on 21 shots as the Wild did a great job of keeping the puck off the net. Jason Pominville, Matt Dumba, Jason Zucker and Mikael Granlund each lit the lamp for the visitors with Granlund’s and Pominville’s goals being empty netters in an exciting last 1:13 where the teams scored three times.

St. Louis Blues vs. Minnesota Wild - 4/18/15 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The scoreboard doesn’t tell us the full story in the opener with a ton of goals scored but this was a defensive struggle throughout and the St Louis Blues had their backs against the wall as they pulled goalie Jake Allen in the final one +minute for the extra attacker to try and net the equalizer. An empty netter had the Blues staring at a 3-1 hole before Jaden Schwartz potted a rebound of a Vladimir Tarasenko shot with less then 59 ticks remaining to cut the deficit to 3-2. The Wild again answered with yet another empty net tally with 20 seconds remaining and the Blues had run out of time. Alexander Steen lit the lamp at 7:12 of the third to cut Minnesota’s lead to 2-1 and Allen recorded 25 stops in the loss but this was a game where the Wild got the lead and made it pay off with the Blues forced to pull Allen late.

The over is 4-0 in Wild last 4 Conference Quarterfinals games and is 2-0-2 in Wild last 4 Saturday games while going  3-0-2 in Wild last 5 games following a win. The Blues are 0-5 in their last 5 Conference Quarterfinals games with the over going 3-0-1 in Blues last 4 Conference Quarterfinals games and 4-1 in Blues last 5 Saturday games. Head to head the over is 5-1-2 in the last 8 meetings while the Wild are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings in St. Louis and  4-11 in the last 15 meetings. Still waiting on a line but it shouldn’t be much different then game one…
