The Scotiabank Saddledome and the Calgary Flames host the Vancouver Canucks in game three
The Calgary Flames had visions of taking a 2-0 series lead back to the Scotiabank Saddlebank but instead had to settle for 1-1 series tie which isn’t so bad as the Flames stole home ice advantage. Calgary fell behind early and never recovered as their offense never got their feet under them while the defense couldn’t win on their lonesome. The Flames faced a 3-0 deficit before finally breaking in to the scoring column in the third with a tally off the stick of Kris Russell who scored the winner in game one. Jonas Hiller allowed three goals on 29 shots with Karri Ramo posting two more saves with Hiller on the bench late in the final frame.

The Vancouver Canucks avoided a repeat of their series opening loss by jumping out to an early lead on Calgary and then building on the advantage while keeping the Flames offense in check. The Canucks were never threatened with a 2-0 bulge after 20 minutes before upping the lead to 3-0 in the third before coasting the final few minutes. Eddie Lack was didn’t see a lot of rubber but turned away 22 shots to pick up the win an more important was even the series at a game apiece heading to Calgary. Daniel Sedin, Ronalds Kennis, Chris Higgins and Radim Vrbata gave lack plenty of help on the scoreboard to avoid another late collapse.
