The New York Rangers failed to take the first two games of their series with the Pens at MSG and could very well be in a 2-0 hole heading into Pittsburgh and now they face a tough task of contending with a Pens team starting to gain confidence and heading home. The Rangers were outstanding on the road all season long so they won't be intimated heading into enemy territory in this spot but with Sidney Crosby starting to heat up they should be very concerned that the league's best player doesn't take over this series or else they run the risk of being upset in a very big way in the opening round. Henrik Lundqvist will continue to man the crease but if he has an off night they won't be shy to go with Cam Talbot who had a spectacular season in relief when Lundqvist was injured.
The Penguins played their best game in months on Saturday as they left MSG with an impressive 4-3 victory and while the final line indicates a close contest the result was never really in doubt as Pittsburgh was solid from start to finish. The Pens return home where they have been historically impressive over the years and they'll need a couple of big outings to stay in this series as they can't afford to go back to MSG down 3-1 and a chance at elimination but in the same regard they have a shot at knocking the Rangers down in both contests here and have their shot at advancing back in New York. We said off the hop that this series has the legs to go the distance and we aren't going to waver from that idea and while New York is the favourite I see Pittsburgh skating to victory behind an enegrized crowd and another brilliant night from Crosby.
