The MTS Centre and the Winnipeg Jets look for a win versus the Anaheim Ducks in game four of their quarterfinal series.
The Anaheim Ducks can be a frustrating team at times because they generally don’t win big when expected and sometimes don’t perform as expected but right now they are frustrating the Winnipeg Jets. No matter ho well the Jets have played the Ducks seem to be one step ahead. We saw that once again Monday in a 5-4, overtime victory at Winnipeg for a 3-0 series lead. The Ducks seem to trail the entire night but another late goal tied the score and the visitors won it on Rickard Bell’s tally just over five minutes in to OT. Jakob Silfverberg led the attack with a goal and a pair of assists with Cam Fowler, Ryan Kessler and Corey Perry also scoring while Frederik Andersen recorded 31 stops in the victory.

The Winnipeg Jets are having a whale of a difficult time trying to keep the Anaheim Ducks in check. After Monday’s defeat the Jets frustration level has to be sky high as they have led each game of the series heading in to the final period and have a goose egg in the win column. For some reason the Ducks have been able to get crucial stops and score big goals late to thwart Winnipeg and did just that Monday when they scored the equalizer with 2:14 left in regulation and won it in overtime. Winnipeg received goals from Lee Stempniak, Tyler Myers, Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler while Ondrej Pavelec picked up the defeat with a 25 save effort. The team has not yet won in the postseason as the Jets.
The Ducks are 5-0 in their last 5 Conference Quarterfinals games and are 5-0 in their last 5 road games while going 4-0 in their last 4 overall. The Jets are 0-7 in their last 7 Conference Quarterfinals games and are 0-6 in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and 1-6 in their last 7 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game. The Ducks are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Winnipeg and are 7-0 in the last 7 meetings while the over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings. I don’t know who will be in goal but I have to give a serious look at Anaheim but please check back…
