The Rogers Arena and the Vancouver Canucks look to stay alive in the postseason with the Calgary Flames in town.
The Vancouver Canucks are in trouble unless they get some scoring and defensive intensity from the drop of the puck until the final buzzer. The Canucks were tagged for three goals in the opening period on Tuesday and even though the defense regrouped the offense didn’t and a poor first was the game and has the Canucks on the brink of elimination with a 3-1 series deficit. Henrik Sedin was the lone souce of offense when he snapped a wrist shot past Jonas Hiller on the man advantage that temporarily knotted the score at a goal apiece. Eddie Lack was given the hook in the first with three goals given up on seven shots with Ryan Miller coming on and stopping all 15 shots he saw.

The Calgary Flames have an opportunity to advance to the Western Conference semifinals with a win at the Rogers Center on Thursday night. The Flames blitzed Vancouver with three first period goals before handing the reins to their defense and goalie Jonas Hiller who was flawless over the final two periods. The Flames power play was devastating in the first with two of their tallies coming with the man advantage. Johnny Gaudreau, Jiri Hudler and Sam Bennett each found the back of the net against a struggling Eddie Lack with Dennis Wideman posting a pair of assists. Jonas Hiller was at the top of his game with 28 saves to record the victory and stood tall in the third with a monster 15 saves to preserve the lead.
