The Scottrade Center and the St Louis Blues host the Minnesota Wild in game five on Friday.
The Minnesota Wild had a chance to take control of their opening round series with St Louis with a 2-1 series lead and the Blues visiting on Wednesday but it was not meant to be as the visitors scored early and often in a 6-1 decision that sends the series back to the Scottrade Center tied at 2-2. It was 3-0 when Minnesota finally got on the scoreboard at 1:41 of the second when Jared Spurgeon lit the lamp, however the Blues kept scoring and Minnesota was through for the night. Devin Dubnyk was given the hook after allowing all six goals on 17 shots with Darcy Kuemper stopping all nine shots he faced although the damage was done and I wonder why the change didn’t come sooner.

The St Louis Blues won the Central division and challenged for the best record in the Western Conference but for some reason have appeared lethargic at times. Wednesday was not one of those times as they exploded for a 6-1 victory at Minnesota to avoid a 3-1 series hole. The Blues were dominant at both ends of the ice with Vladimir Tarasenko leading the scoring spree with a pair of tallies with Ryan Reaves, Paul Stasny, Patrik Berglund and David Bakes also lighting the lamp. Kevin Shattenkirk posted three helpers and Jake Allen recorded 17 saves to complete the rout. St Louis blitzed Minnesota with three goals in the first and three more in the second.
The over is 3-0-1 in Wild last 4 road games and 3-0-1 in Wild last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 while going 5-1 in Wild last 6 following a loss of 3 or more goals. The over is 5-0-2 in Blues last 7 Friday games and 9-1-1 in Blues last 11 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game while St Louis are 1-5 in their last 6 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. The over is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings and the are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings in St. Louis while the over is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings in St. Louis. I don’t have a feeling for this one but I will when goalies are confirmed…
