NHL Daily Updates: Checking in on the Latest News, Daily Schedule and More
May 2, 2015
Round 2 of the 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs continues today, with one more game on the schedule. It’s an early one, so make sure you clear your schedule in the next few hours. Before we get to that, let’s check out some of the notable players and stats in the headlines right now.
Nikita Kucherov, RW, Tampa Bay Lightning: Kucherov got to play the hero last night against the Canadiens, scoring the game-winning goal in double-overtime to put Tampa Bay into a 2-1 victory. He had nearly scored earlier, but the goal was waved off by the referees after review.
This one was a goalie duel, with Ben Bishop posting 43 saves and Carey Price 34.
Game 2 is tomorrow at Bell Centre.

Teuvo Teravainen, C, Chicago Blackhawks: Teravainen scored what would hold up as the game-winning goal last night against the Wild late in the second period off an assist from Patrick Sharp and Duncan Keith. His tally would make the game 4-3, and that’s the way it stayed.
It was Teravainen’s first career playoff goal; he hadn’t played since Game 2 of the Predators series.
Chicago had a three-goal lead in the first but gave it back in the second before the rookie’s eventual game-winner.
The Flames’ Jiri Hudler is dealing with an undisclosed injury right now and is considered day-to-day.
We’d imagine he’s questionable at best for tomorrow’s Game 2 against Anaheim.
In other Flames news, Michael Ferland (who also has an undisclosed issue) should be able to play in tomorrow’s game.
He had to leave Game 1 early due to his injury.
NHL Daily Schedule: Here’s a look at the upcoming games on the NHL schedule, including the start times and TV networks where you can catch each matchup.
