May 6, 2015
We’ve got two more games on tap for this evening as Round 2 of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs continues on. While we’re waiting on game-time, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there right now, as well as some of the highlights from the two playoff games last night.
Corey Crawford, G, Chicago Blackhawks: The Blackhawks flat-out own the Wild these days. Chicago recorded yet another victory over Minnesota last night--even though this one was pretty close--with a 1-0 win in St. Paul.
Crawford pitched a shutout on 30 saves, while Patrick Kane provided the only goal that the team needed for the win. The Wild had plenty of solid chances, but couldn’t convert any as the frustration mounted in the latter periods.
Chicago is now up 3-0 in the series and one victory away from reaching the Western Conference Finals for the third year in a row.
Game 4 is tomorrow at Xcel Energy Center, where Minnesota will try to find a way to stave off elimination.

Mikael Backlund, C, Calgary Flames: In last night’s other matchup, the Flames were able to muster up a rally and get a win over the Ducks after entering the third period down 3-2.
Johnny Gaudreau would score a power play goal at the 19:40 mark of that period to tie things up, and Backlund posted the game-winner at 4:24 in OT. It was his first Stanley Cup Playoffs goal.
Anaheim still leads the series 2-1 heading into Game 4, which will be Friday in Calgary.
