May 11, 2015
We have some more intense action coming up in the 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs tomorrow, and when the dust settles we’ll get a better picture of the future of the postseason and know who the league's final four teams will be. While we’re waiting on game-time, let’s check out some of the notable players and stats out there in the news.
Chris Kreider, LW, New York Rangers: The Rangers sure do know how to make things interesting. They’ve rallied from a 3-1 deficit in their best-of-7 series against the Capitals, forcing a decisive final game on Wednesday at the Garden.
The Rangers defeated the Caps 4-3 last night, nearly choking up a 4-1 lead in the third period. Kreider scored twice here, while on the other side Joel Ward had a goal and two assists, while Jason Chimera managed a score and a helper of his own.
Net-minder Henrik Lundqvist was pelted with shots all game, making 42 saves overall. The Caps out-shot New York 42-28 in the game.
The final game in this series will be Wednesday night in New York at 7:30 PM ET.

Corey Perry, RW, Anaheim Ducks: The Ducks are moving on to the Western Conference Finals, following a nail-biting 3-2 overtime victory over the Flames yesterday.
Perry scored the game-winner here, providing eight shots on goal in the game. Ryan Kesler and Matt Beleskey also scored power play goals for the Ducks.
Karri Ramo fought off 44 of the 47 shots he faced, but it wasn’t enough to keep Calgary’s season alive.
As for the Ducks, this is the first time they’ve reached the conference finals since 2007, when they won the Stanley Cup. In order to get to the Finals, they’ll have to get past the Blackhawks, who are playing very well right now.
