NHL Daily Updates: Checking in on the Latest News, Daily Schedule and More
May 26, 2015
Tonight is Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2015 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Lightning can close things out with a win at home. Before we get settled in for game time, let’s check out some of the notable players and stats in the news.
Ryan Kesler, C, Anaheim Ducks: This Ducks-Blackhawks series out West has been something to behold. The Ducks eked out a victory in another razor-close game last night, posting a 5-4 overtime win for a 3-2 series lead.
Matt Beleskey scored 45 seconds into the extra period, which nullified a late Chicago rally from the third period, during which Jonathan Toews scored twice to tie things up and send the game to extras.
Kesler logged a goal and an assist in the game, as did teammate Sami Vatanen.
Heading into this game, the Blackhawks had been 14-0 in 2-2 games since 2007, but now that record is no more.
The pivotal Game 6 is tomorrow at United Center.

The Islanders will likely be without defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky next season. Over the weekend, word broke that he was close to inking a deal to play in Austria this upcoming year.
Visnovsky brought a lot of positives to the ice for the Islanders this year, specifically his power-play and scoring abilities, however even without an Austria deal the team probably wouldn’t have re-signed him. He had become something of an injury liability due to several concussions suffered over the past couple of seasons.
