The Tampa Bay Lightning return to Amalie Arena to take the ice against the Chicago Blackhawks in game five.
While many believed the Chicago Blackhawks would be hoisting the Cup the Tampa Bay Lightning might be changing some minds. The Lightning did fall by a 2-1 count in game four at the United Center but they have proven to be the equal of their highly touted counterparts. The series is now even at two games apiece as the Bolts offense was held to 25 shots and one goal although they had some quality chances. The story of the game was rookie net minder Andrei Vasilevsky who got the call between the pipes in place of a banged up Ben Bishop. The rookie recorded 17 saves but Tampa Bay scored once with Alex Killorn finding the back of the net in the second

The big sigh of relief we are hearing is from the Chicago fans the United Center who survived a strong performance from visiting Tampa Bay to earn the win Wednesday and knot their series 2-2. This was a must win for the Hawks who could have faced a 3-1 series deficit and likely end to their Cup hopes. The Blackhawks are 10-1 in these playoffs when drawing first blood and did just that on Jonathan Toews second period tally. Brandon Saad netted the game winner on a backhander at the 6:22 mark of the third. Corey Crawford made the support hold up with a 24 stop effort which included a late assault from the Lightning who desperately tried to find the equalizer late with Vasilevsky pulled.

The Lightning are 4-0 in their last 4 games playing on 2 days rest and the over is 5-1-1 in Lightning last 7 home games while the under is 4-1-1 in their last 6 games playing on 2 days rest. The Blackhawks are 1-5 in the last 6 meetings in Tampa Bay and are 2-8 in the last 10 meetings while the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
