The Chicago Blackhawks can hoist the Stanley Cup with a game six win versus the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Tampa Bay Lightning seemed to have all the advantages heading in to game five with home ice and a chance to move within a step of their second Stanley Cup in franchise history. However the Blackhawks kept their composure in a 2-1 victory to take a 3-2 series lead. The Amalie Arena crowd saw their team do everything but score at the offensive end as they put 32 shots on Corey Crawford but despite the pressure the Bolts never got their offense going on the scoreboard. Tampa Bay’s lone goal came in the middle frame off the stick of Valtteri Filppula while Ben Bishop returned between the pipes after missing game number four with a 27 save performance.

There has been loads of talk regarding the talent and experience of the Chicago Blackhawks in this series and both had a hand in Saturday’s game five victory. The Blackhawks weathered the Tampa Bay attack that poured plenty of rubber on Corey Crawford and were unfazed by Amalie Arena and their reward is a 3-2 series lead with the opportunity to win the Cup at the United Center in Monday night’s game six. The Hawks drew first blood on Patrick Sharp’s first period tally before Antoine Vermette lit the lamp in the final frame. Crawford stood tall between the pipes with a 31 stop effort in picking up the win to give his team a chance to win their third title in the last six seasons.
The under is 4-0 in Lightning last 4 road games and is 4-0 in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 while Tampa Bay are 5-0 in their last 5 Monday games. The under is 4-1 in Blackhawks last 5 overall and is 4-1 in Blackhawks last 5 vs. a team with a winning record while Chicago are 4-1 in their last 5 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. The under is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings in Chicago. No line has been released but my early lean is Chicago in some form...
