The Line: New York Rangers / Columbus Blue Jackets --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Blue Jackets and Rangers complete a home and home set with New York looking to complete the sweep after a 4-2 victory in Columbus last night.
The Blue Jackets drew a pretty tough opponent to open their season as the Eastern Conference powers from New York stormed into town fresh off a win against the Chicago Blackhawks and made it clear once again that they are one of if not the best team in the East. Columbus is expected to be a playoff team this season but if they are going to reach that level they need to do better in their division and games against the Rangers and the other top dogs in the Metro are must wins even this early in the season. Columbus is a good team but to me still not a great one despite some key additions over the last couple of seasons and while Brandon Saad will likely be a difference maker for this group it may take a bit of time to fabricate.

The Rangers look to stay undefeated as they play in their home opener on Saturday night in front of what should be a very loud gathering at MSG. New York lost in the Eastern Conference finals to the Lightning a season ago and will be using that as motivation this season and they'll need it as they have a huge target on their backs especially by teams in their division. The Rangers are in the mix along with the Isles, Caps, and Penguins in what is quickly becoming a very impressive division and while it is tough to beat the same opponent in back to back nights the Rangers have a very good shot to do so and I don't see another option here as the Blue Shirts are the play.
