The Line: Carolina Hurricanes / Florida Panthers --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Hurricanes look to get in the win column on Tuesday night when they host the Florida Panthers in Raleigh.
The Panthers head into Carolina looking to shake off a 1-0 loss to the Flyers last night and will turn to back up Al Montoya between the pipes who continues to be one of the most underrated second options in the NHL. The Panthers made a serious push at the playoffs last season and will be right in the mix once again this year and from an outsider's perspective it'll be exciting to watch Aaron Ekblad continue to grow as one of the best young players in the game. Florida won their season opener in convincing fashion by pasting the same Flyers that blanked them last night but now the Cats can take their frustrations out on a Hurricanes team who should finish near the bottom of the league standings once again.

Carolina was once considered a perennial Eastern Conference favourite but those days have come and gone and it will be a while before they get back to sniffing meaningful hockey as they are still a bit of mess. The Canes dp have some talented players no doubt but as a unit they haven't been able to put it together over the last couple of seasons and this could be the year we finally see the likes of Cam Ward and Eric Staal moving on as they will surely be trade deadline commodities. Even though the Cats are without Roberto Luongo here I think Montoya will be more than capable of getting the win in his season debut as he should outduel Eddie Lack and give the Panthers a nice road win.
