Brian Boyle, C, Tampa Bay Lightning: The Lightning got a solid win yesterday against the Bruins at TD Garden, spearheaded by Boyle’s two goals. Tampa Bay is now 3-0-0 following the 6-3 victory.
Steven Stamkos had a memorable game as well, posting his 500th NHL point on a second-period power-play goal. The Lightning were down 0-2 early and were able to claw their way back.

John Tavares, C, New York Islanders: Tavares had an impressive game yesterday against the Jets, logging a goal and two assists in a 4-2 win.
Ryan Strome, Brock Nelson and Josh Bailey also scored for the Isles, who managed to get their first regular-season win in Brooklyn this year. They’re now 1-1-1 overall.
New York managed two goals on six power-play opportunities here, turning a dominant first-period effort into a solid win.

Rasmus Ristolainen, D, Buffalo Sabres: Ristolainen posted a goal and an assist in the Sabres’ first victory of the year, a 4-2 effort over the Blue Jackets at First Niagara Center on Monday.
Ryan O’Reilly also logged a score and a helper, getting the Sabres to 1-2-0 thus far.
Chad Johnson got his first victory with Buffalo, posting 20 saves. He was picked up from the Islanders in a trade this past March.

Michal Neuvirth, G, Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers and Panthers played a very tight game last night at Wells Fargo Center in Philly. Neuvirth came up with 31 saves in a 1-0 shutout, with Brayden Schenn scoring the game’s lone goal.
This was the eighth career NHL shutout for Neuvirth, and the Flyers’ first 1-0 win in a home opener since way back in their first season of 1967.
