The Blue Jackets look to shake off their ugly start to the season and earn their first win of the season as they take to the road to face off with the Cup champs.
The Blue jackets were expected to be in contention in the Eastern Conference this season but after stumbling out of the gate and losing their first five games of the season they are quickly falling out of favour and may be pressing the panic button very soon. Columbus has some good pieces but to me they were always an overrated bunch that plays in a division where they will be very hard pressed to emerge as a top three team and in a conference where it'll be even harder to land a wild card spot. The Jackets head to the road as heavy underdogs against the Blackhawks who have looked like the defending champions thus far and will be out to prove once again why they are favoured to get there again this season.

The Blackhawks have dropped back to back games and have slipped into the basement in the Central division but must be licking their chops with Columbus on the docket and they will use this as an opportunity to build some momentum heading into next week. The Hawks have a lot of their core back from a season ago but haven't been able to get rolling quite yet and they'll need Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane to step up and produce on the ice and in the dressing room to stop this mini two game halt. The jackets are bound to win some time but it doesn't look like it'll come tonight as the Hawks should be focused and ready to lay a beat down.
