October 18, 2015
We’re coming out of a very busy NHL evening and heading into a full day of on-ice action. While we’re waiting for those games to get going, let’s check out some of the notable players out there in the headlines.
Carey Price, G, Montreal Canadiens: The Canadiens are off to the best start in the franchise’s history, with the latest victory coming yesterday on a 4-1 tally over the Red Wings in Montreal.
Price logged 21 saves in this one, helping his team get to 6-0-0 on the year. Jeff Petry managed the team’s first goal by a defenseman this year when he posted a power-play score in the third.

Tyler Seguin, C, Dallas Stars: The Stars were down 0-2 to the Panthers yesterday, but were able to score four unanswered goals for a 4-2 victory.
Seguin logged two goals and two assists in the rally, with Jamie Benn helping out on two scores and an assist of his own.
Dallas is now standing tall at 4-1-0, which is its best start since 2011-12.
Kyle Okposo, RW, NY Islanders: Okposo had a nice game against the Sharks at Barclays Center, helping his team to a 6-3 victory. He posted a goal and two assists in this one, and his teammates Frans Nielsen and Josh Bailey each logged a score and a helper.
Isles goalie Jaroslav Halak had 22 assists; this was his first game back after an upper-body injury.
Marian Hossa, RW, Chicago Blackhawks: The defending champion Blackhawks have been up and down in their performances so far this year, but yesterday was one of the better examples. Hossa bagged a goal and an assist in the 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets at United Center, and goalie Corey Crawford posted 22 saves on 23 shots.
Chicago moves to 3-3-0 with the win; the Jackets fall to 0-6-0.
