The Blue Jackets begin the John Tortorella era on the road in Minnesota as Columbus looks for their first victory of the season.
The Columbus Blue Jackets came into this season with big expectations but after the first two weeks they are already undergoing an overhaul as an 0-7 start cost them their coach and now they have brought in former Lightning, Rangers, and Canucks bench boss John Tortorella. Columbus isn't nearly as bad as their winless mark indicates but to me they were always an over hyped team and now they are paying for it as they were once considered Metro contenders but now could be out of the playoff race by Halloween. The Jackets' schedule doesn't get any easier though as they head into Minnestoa to battle with the Wild who are coming off a loss of their own but very rarely do they lose on home ice.

Minnesota meanwhile has points in four of their five games so far this season with their lone regulation loss coming against the Anaheim Ducks who caught Minny at the tail end of a long road trip and now they return home where they were lights out last season. The Wild have been knocking on the door for the last few years and now they have reached a Cup or bust mentality as this group has faltered in the second season and haven't come close to sniffing a league championship. Normally in these situations I am betting hard on the team playing under a new coach and averages state the Jackets are going to get their first win soon but I don't see it here against a very strong Wild team that should have no trouble at home.
