John Klingberg, D, Dallas Stars: In another 4-1 result last night, the Stars topped the Penguins in Pittsburgh at Consol Energy Center. Klingberg came up with a goal and an assist, while Antti Niemi put up 33 saves on 34 shots.
That’s the second time the Stars have beaten the Penguins in their first seven games, and they move to 6-1-0 with a five-game win streak. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, falls to 3-4-0, allowing more than three goals for the first time this year.

Ryan Ellis, D, Nashville Predators: Ellis had a busy evening last night against the Ducks at Bridgestone Arena. He managed a goal and two assists, helping his team to a 5-1 win.

The Ducks fall to 1-4-1 now, and have four more road games before getting back to Anaheim.

Brent Seabrook, D, Chicago Blackhawks: Let’s finish out today’s notable defensemen trio with Seabrook, who logged a goal and two assists in his team’s 3-2 win over the Panthers last night at United Center. He stepped up in the absence of Duncan Keith, who’s out for 4-6 weeks after knee surgery.
Patrick Kane put up a goal and two assists here as well, helping the Blackhawks to 4-3-0. The Panthers are now 3-3-1 after the loss.
