We’re heading into a very busy stretch in the NHL, starting with an eight-game set tonight. While we’re waiting on those, let’s take our daily look at the headlines to see which players are making news.

Kyle Turris, C, Ottawa Senators: The Senators have finally won a game at home this year, and ended a four-game losing streak in the process. They took a 5-4 shootout win over the Flames at Canadian Tire Centre yesterday, with Turris bagging a goal and an assist. Mika Zibanejad put up the decisive shootout goal.
The win brings the Senators to 4-3-2 on the season. As for the Flames, they’re down to 2-7-1 and have lost three straight.

Marc-Andre Fleury, G, Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins-Capitals game last night was primarily a defensive struggle, with Fleury coming out on top. He managed 33 saves on 34 shots, helping guide the Pens to a 3-1 win at Verizon Center. Phil Kessel bagged the game-winning goal, while Evgeny Kuznetsov scored for the Caps.
The Penguins have now won five of their last six games, evening the ship after starting out the season on three straight losses. The Caps sit at 6-2-0.

Pekka Rinne, G, Nashville Predators: The Predators got a little revenge over the Sharks last night, eking out a 2-1 victory in San Jose. Rinne put up 20 saves on 21 shots, with Calle Jarnkrok breaking the tie with 11:08 left in the third. It was his first goal of the season.
Nashville has now outscored their opponents 7-0 in the first period this year, leading to a 7-1-1 record thus far.
