The CBJ did all their scoring in the third period with Scott Hartnell, Boone Jenner and Cam Atkinson lighting the lamp to make a winner of Sergei Bobrovsky who recorded 23 stops in the win as Columbus improved to 2-8-0. The Devils Kyle Palmieri scored with the man advantage with just 2:28 remaining while Cory Schneider recorded 14 stops ad the Devils saw a four game winning streak end.

The red hot Washington Capitals were cooled off for a night in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday which put an end to their five game winning streak. The Penguins received goals from Phil Kessel, Evegny Kuznettsov and an empty net tally from Nick Bonino to seal the win for Marc-Andre Fleury who recorded 34 saves to pick up the win. Evgeny Kuznetsov found the back of the net for Washington’s lone goal while the loss went to Braden Holtby had 22 stops in the loss.. This was a case of the Capitals running in to a hot goalie with Fleury allowing a mere two goals on the last 73 shots he has faced.
