PNC Arena and the Carolina Hurricanes welcome the Dallas Stars to town on Friday.
The Dallas Stars bounced back from a rare defeat to upend the Boston Bruins 5-3 Tuesday at TD Garden. The Stars had too much offense for the Bruins to handle with three power play goals leading the way. Former Bruin Tyler Seguin paced the attack with a hat trick while Jyrki Jokipakka and Alex Goligoski also lighting the lamp with Jamie Benn recording a pair of helpers to make Kari Lehtonen’s 36 saves stand up. The Bruins received both goals from Loui Eriksson with the loss going to Tukka Rask who posted 14 stops.

The Carolina Hurricanes saw a three game winning streak come to an end in a 4-3 defeat at the hands of visiting Tampa Bay on Sunday while the Lightning snapped a four game slide. The balanced Tampa Bay attack saw Steven Stamkos, Ryan Callahan, JT Brown and Tyler Johnson to make a winner of Andrei Vasilevskly who posted 32 stops in his first action of the season. Kris Versteeg, Eric Staal and Jordan Staal supplied the Hurricanes offense with Cam Ward charged with all four goals on 31 shots to absorb the loss.
