The Washington Capitals look for a win at Joe Louis Arena versus the Detroit Red Wings.

The Washington Capitals fell behind for the 4th consecutive game before taking down the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 in a shootout to send the Verizon Center crowd home with smiles. Nickolas Backstrom scored with less then a second left in regulation to send the game to overtime while Alex Ovechkin tallied in the second period and in the 4th round of the shootout to make a winner of Braden Holtby who allowed both goals on 25 shots. The Maple Leafs saw Daniel Winnik and James van Riemsdyk light the lamp but let one get away with James Reimer giving up two goals on 29 shots including the heartbreaker in the last second of regulation.

Detroit Red Wings vs. Washington Capitals - 11/10/15 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Dallas Stars great start to the season continued in a 4-1 victory at Joe Louis Arena on Sunday that upped their record to 12-3-0. A balanced Stars attack saw Valeri Nichushkin and Cody Eakin while Tyler Seguin and Patrick Sharp scored and added assists. The offensive burst made life between the pipes for Kari Lehtonen good as he recorded 21 stops in picking up the win. The Red Wings never got their offense going with Gustav Nyquist scoring their only goal while Jimmy Howard recorded 20 stops before getting hurt in the third. The Red Wings have dropped have dropped to 7-6-1 with loss number three in a row.

The Capitals are 4-0 in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and the under is 4-0-1 in Capitals last 5 vs. Atlantic while going  4-0 in Capitals last 4 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. The Red Wings are 0-4 in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest and the under is 5-0 in Red Wings last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 while going  4-0 in Red Wings last 4 home games. The over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings and the Capitals are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings while the home team is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings. I’m not sure of Howard’s status so please check back when goalies are announced…
