The New Jersey Devils go on the road to take the ice at the United Center to face the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Prudential Center proved to be of no help to the New Jersey Devils in a 2-0 loss to the St Louis Blues on Tuesday. The Devils had the misfortune of running in to a hot Jake Allen between the pipes as he brushed aside 24 shots to record back to back shutouts which helped the Blues to victory number three in a row. St Louis received goals from Martin Havlat and Magnus Paajarvi as their defense dominated the entire contest with their record improving to 11-3-1. New Jersey netminder Cory Schneider played well in absorbing the loss with a 26 save performance but that wasn’t enough o keep the Devils from falling to 8-6-1.

The United Center has been a house of horrors for opponents of the Chicago Blackhawks and that trend continued in a 4-2 win versus the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. Cory Crawford held the Oilers attack in check with a 34 save effort as Chicago improved to 7-1-1 at home. Artemi Panarin led the Hawks offense with a pair of tallies and an assist with Patrick Kane scoring and logging three helpers while Adem Anisimov scoring on the power play with a mere six seconds left in regulation. Jordan Eberle and Andrej Sekera supplied the Edmonton offense but Cam Talbot allowed all four goals on 28 shots.
The over is 2-0-2 in Devils last 4 Thursday games and the Devils are 7-1 in their last 8 games playing on 1 days rest while going 6-1 in their last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. The under is 2-0-3 in Blackhawks last 5 games playing on 3 or more days rest and is 3-0-1 in Blackhawks last 4 Thursday games while the over is 5-0 in Blackhawks last 5 overall. The Devils are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings and are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Chicago while the over is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings. No goalies have been named but Chicago has been dynamite at home…
