The NHL will be easing up a bit with just two games on the schedule tonight. Before we get into those key matchups, let’s check out our daily wrap-up of the headlines and see who’s in the news.
Henrik Lundqvist, G, New York Rangers: The Rangers have won eight straight games, thanks to a 2-1 shootout victory over the Senators at Canadian Tire Centre yesterday. Lundqvist bagged 22 saves on 23 shots, and Dan Boyle snagged the decisive goal in the shootout.
The Rangers are now 13-2-2 overall, while the Senators sit at 8-5-4.

Tuukka Rask, G, Boston Bruins: Rask snagged 22 saves on 23 shots last night as the Bruins put up a 3-1 victory over the Red Wings at TD Garden.
Boston scored three times in the second period; goals came from Bergeron, Krejci and Krug.
Boston sits at 8-7-1 overall, winning for just the second time in eight games at home (2-5-1).
The Red Wings are now 8-6-1 overall, losing for the third time in their last four games.
Cory Schneider, G, New Jersey Devils: The Devils bagged a shutout victory last night, with Schneider making all 21 saves against the Penguins at Prudential center.
Mike Cammalleri put up a goal and two assists in the 4-0 win, which brings the Devils to 10-6-1 overall. They’re now third in the Metropolitan Division.
The Penguins, conversely, have lost three of their last four games and sit at 10-7-0 thus far.
Pekka Rinne, G, Nashville Predators: Rinne also had a shutout last night, not to be outdone. He snagged 20 saves in this one, and his offense turned on the heat against the Jets at Bridgestone Arena in a 7-0 victory.
Craig Smith hadn’t scored a goal since October 17, but managed to get one along with a pair of assists in the first period alone. Nashville scored four goals in the first, and it took them just nine shots to do it.
The Predators are now 10-3-3 on the year, while Winnipeg has lost their last five straight and slide to 8-8-2.
