November 22, 2015
We’ve got just four matchups on the NHL schedule today, but they’ll get going in the early afternoon and keep us occupied until late this evening. In the meantime, let’s take our daily look at the headlines and see who’s in the news.
Zdeno Chara, D, Boston Bruins: Chara posted a score at 16:17 of the third last night at TD Garden against the Leafs, which would go on to secure a 2-0 victory. Brad Marchand posted an empty-netter here, while Tuukka Rask logged 22 saves in the shutout.
Boston outshot the Leafs 37-22, with 19 of their shots coming from defensemen. The Bruins are now 10-8-1 on the year.

Ben Bishop, G, Tampa Bay Lightning: Not to be outdone, Bishop logged a nice shutout last night as well. He posted 30 saves against the Ducks at Amalie Arena in Tampa, helping his team to a 5-0 victory. This was Bishop’s first shutout of the season.
Steven Stamkos had two goals and an assist, while Nikita Kucherov logged a goal and two assists.
The Lightning are now 10-9-3 on the year, and 3-1-1 in their past five. The Ducks fall to 7-10-4.
Rick Nash, LW, New York Rangers: Nash was the hero for the Rangers last night in Sunrise at BB&T Center. He scored a hat trick, with his third goal coming in overtime on a power play. That would give New York a 5-4 win.
Henrik Lundqvist posted 39 saves here, while Jussi Jokinen managed a goal and an assist on the other side.
The Rangers have won seven straight against Florida and move to 15-3-2 on the year.
Evgeny Kuznetsov, C, Washington Capitals: The Capitals have been in something of an offensive lull over the past month, especially in the first period. That came to a halt last night during a four-goal first-period outburst against the Avalanche at Verizon Center.
Kuznetsov scored once and assisted on two others in the 7-3 win, while Jason Chimera racked up a trio of assists.
