November 30, 2015
We’ve got just four games on the NHL schedule tonight, but there are some good matchups mixed in there. While we’re waiting, let’s check out some of the notable players and stats out there in our daily wrap-up.
Reilly Smith, RW, Florida Panthers: Yesterday’s only NHL action featured the Panthers and the Red Wings squaring off at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Florida took a 2-1 overtime victory, with Smith tying the game in the third and Brian Campbell scoring the game-winner at 1:20 into the extra period.
Dylan Larkin logged the lone score for the Red Wings, who are now 12-8-4 on the year. They’ve played four straight overtime games and have gone to extras in six of their past seven.

The Leafs’ Joffrey Lupul will miss out on tonight’s game against the Oilers due to an undisclosed injury.
The ailment is reportedly a “nagging” issue, which could explain why Lupul has just one point over his last five games. He has eight goals and three assists this season.
Speaking of the Leafs, Garret Sparks will be making his NHL debut tonight in goal for Toronto.
James Reimer is apparently still hurting, and the team is opting to go with Sparks over Jonathan Bernier.
As for Sparks, he’s been great at the AHL level with an 8-2-1 record, a 1.90 GAA and a save percentage of .938.
The Ducks’ Jiri Sekac hasn’t played in a game since the first of this month, but he’s begun skating on his own.
Sekac is still trying to get over an ankle injury, but doesn’t quite have a concrete timetable just yet.
