The early season struggles of the Calgary Flames continued in a 5-2 defeat to the San Jose Sharks at the SAP Center on Saturday night. The Sharks offense exploded with Patrick Marleau and Joel Ward lighting the lamp while Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Tomas Hertl and Tommy Wingels each scored and posted assists. The Sharks have won seven of eight and improved to 14-9-0 behind a 25 stop effort from Martin Jones. Flames netminder Jonas Hiller struggled with all five goals allowed on 29 shots while Michael Ferland and Markus Granlund supplied goals which couldn’t prevent the Flames from falling to 8-14-2.
The Stars are 8-1 in their last 9 games playing on 2 days rest and the under is 6-1 in Stars last 7 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game while Dallas are 13-3 in their last 16 vs. Western Conference. The over is 6-0-1 in Flames last 7 Tuesday games and the Flames are 4-0 in their last 4 home games while going 1-6 in their last 7 vs. Central. The road team is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings and the over is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings in Calgary while going 14-4-3 in the last 21 meetings. The trends favor the over and Dallas but I need to see goalies…
