Carolina Hurricanes vs. Montreal Canadiens - 12/5/15 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Despite dominating the majority of the game the Montreal Canadiens dropped a 3-2 decision to the Washington Capitals on Thursday. In the process the surging Capitals notched their 6th consecutive victory to up their record to 18-5-1. TJ Oshie paced the Caps with a pair of goals including the game winner while Tom Wilson also lit the lamp to make a winner of Braden Holtby and his 33 stops. The Canadiens received goals from Brian Flynn and Lars Eller but Mike Condon allowed all three goals on just 19 shots with the Habs looking for consistent goaltending with Carey Price out for at least six weeks.

The New Jersey Devils opened up their road swing with strong performances at both ends of the ice in a 5-1 victory versus the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Park. Mike Cammalleri led the Devils offense with a pair of goals with Adam Skinner, Stephen Gionta and Jacob Josefson whle John Moore added a pair of assists. That was more then enough for Keith Kinkaid  who stopped 30 shots to raise the Devils record to 13-10-2. The Canes couldn’t keep pace on the scoreboard with Brad Malone the only player finding the back of the net while Eddie Lack allowed all five goals on 27 shots as Carolina fell to 8-13-4.

The under is 1-0-3 in Canadiens last 4 vs. Metropolitan and is 1-0-3 in Canadiens last 4 vs. Eastern Conference while the over is 4-0 in Canadiens last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. The over is 2-0-5 in Hurricanes last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and is 3-0-5 in Hurricanes last 8 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game while going 3-0-3 in Hurricanes last 6 overall. The under is 3-0-2 in the last 5 meetings and the

Canadiens are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings while the home team is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings. I favor Montreal until goalies are confirmed…
