The surging Washington Capitals look for another win when they take the ice at the Winnipeg Jets.
The Washington Capitals were outplayed in most phases of the game still emerged with a 3-2 victory versus the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre on Thursday night. The slumping Winnipeg Jets exploded for a 6-1 rout versus the Toronto Maple Leafs to hopefully gain some momentum going forward. The Jets dominated both ends of the ice with Drew Stafford leading the attack with a pair of goals with Brett Little, Andrew Ladd, Anthony Peluso and Mark Scheifele also scoring with Scheifele logging two assists. The win went to Connor Hellebuyck stopping 32 shots as the Jets improved to 12-12-2. The Maple Leafs scored first on Michael Grabner’s tally about two minutes in but Garrett Sparks was touched for all six goals on 35 shots.
