The Buffalo Sabres pay a visit to Rexall Place to take the ice with the Edmonton Oilers.
The Buffalo Sabres have been scoring lately and that trend continued in a 5-2 victory versus the Arizona Coyotes Friday night that sent the First Niagara Center crowd home with smiles on their faces. Evander Kane paced the Sabres attack with a pair of goals with Sam Reinhart, Jamie McGinn and Marcus Foligno also scoring. Chad Johnson recorded 18 saves as the Sabres have now won three of four to improve 11-12-3. Rookie Max Domni scored both goals for the Coyotes but that wasn’t enough with Mike Smith allowing four goals on 27 shots as Arizona has lost three in a row.

The Edmonton Oilers haven’t had a lot go their way this year but perhaps Friday’s 2-1, overtime victory against high powered Dallas provides a spark. This one belonged to goalie Anders Nilsson who was peppered with 43 shots but stood tall against the Stars. Taylor Hall tallied in the opening period with Jordan Eberle scoring the winner just 45 seconds in to the extra session to give Edmonton back to back wins. Mattias Janmark was the only Star to solve Nilsson and Antti Niemi made 22 stops to absorb the loss with Dallas ‘falling’ to 20-5-2.
The under is 4-0-5 in Sabres last 9 games playing on 1 days rest and is 4-0 in Sabres last 4 Sunday games while the over is 2-0-3 in Sabres last 5 overall. The under is 3-0-1 in Oilers last 4 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and is 4-0 in Oilers last 4 overall while the over is 5-0 in Oilers last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. The under is 2-0-2 in the last 4 meetings and the Sabres are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Edmonton while going 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. I favor Buffalo but need to see goalies…
