We’ve got a pretty busy Sunday of NHL action ahead of us, with the games starting early this evening. While we’re waiting on those, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there right now.
Jake Muzzin, D, Los Angeles Kings: The defensemen of the Kings were the main contributors in their 5-3 win over the Penguins at Staples Center yesterday. Muzzin had a goal and two assists, while Drew Doughty put up a goal and a helper of his own.
The Kings have now won five straight at home and are 16-8-1. Pittsburgh slips to 14-9-2.

Tomas Tatar, LW, Detroit Red Wings: The Red Wings put up a thrilling 5-4 overtime win last night at Joe Louis Arena against the Predators. Gustav Nyquist scored on a breakaway 1:41 into the extra period, while Tatar and Dylan Larkin each had a goal and an assist.
On the other side, Shea Weber recorded a hat trick on three shots for the Predators.
Detroit now has a point in their last 10 games (7-0-3) and are 15-8-4 on the year.
Garret Sparks, G, Toronto Maple Leafs: Sparks had a nice outing last night at Scottrade Center against the Blues. He put up 27 saves on 28 shots in a 4-1 win for the Maple Leafs.
Nazem Kadri scored twice, while Roman Polak and Leo Komarov each had two assists. The Leafs are now 9-13-5.
This was Toronto’s first win in St. Louis since November of 2011 and their first regulation win over the blues since February of 2007.
Tuukka Rask, G, Boston Bruins: Rask got himself a shutout last night in Vancouver against the Canucks, nabbing saves on each of the 17 shots that came his way in a 4-0 win at Rogers Arena.
Landon Ferraro posted a goal and an assist here, and the Bruins scored on two of their first four shots.
The Bruins ended their three-game Western Canada trip on a high note here, after two losses in Alberta.
