The Carolina Hurricanes overcame a 4-0 third period deficit at the United Airlines Center on Wednesday against the Dallas Stars only to lose 6-5 on a late PP goal. Patrick Sharp scored the winner on the man advantage with just under 19 seconds remained. Jamie Benn added a goal and three assists with Tyler Seguin scoring and logging three helpers also while Valeri Nichushkin, Johnny Oduya and Patrick Eaves also lit the lamp. Kari Lehtonen allowed five goals on 30 shots and was replaced by Antti Niemi who got the win but did not see a shot. The Hurricanes received two goals from Justin Faulk with Jacob Slavin, Phillip Di Giuseppe and Jeff Skinner scoring as well. Cam Ward gave up four goals on eight shots before Eddie Lack allowed two on 12 shots to get the loss.

The Anaheim Ducks will be looking for their first three game winning streak when the Carolina Hurricanes visit on Friday night. The Ducks picked up back to back wins with a 2-1 victory against visiting Pittsburgh on Sunday to up their record to 11-12-5. Corey Perry and Chris Stewart provided the Ducks offense and John Gibson recorded 23 stops to improve to 4-2-1 in his 6th straight start between the pipes. The Penguins never got their offense going with Olli Maatta lone goal giving the Pens a 1-0 lead just over three minutes in to the opening period. The loss went to Marc-Andre Fleury who stopped 23 shots as Pittsburgh fell to 14-10-2.
