NHL Daily Updates: Checking in on the Latest News, Daily Schedule and More
December 12, 2015
The NHL has a stuffed schedule in store for us today, with 10 matchups on the slate. Let’s take our daily look at the headlines while we’re waiting on those games to start.
Patrick Kane, RW, Chicago Blackhawks: The Blackhawks got a nice outing from their key players last night against the Jets at United Center, and it turned into a 2-0 victory.
Kane scored a goal on three shots, extending his points streak to 25 games. He’s now tied with Sidney Crosby for the longest streak since 92-93.
Jonathan Toews scored a goal here, and Corey Crawford pitched the shutout with 25 saves.

Antoine Roussel, LW, Dallas Stars: Roussel and Mattias Janmark were able to bag scores at 3:22 apart in the second period last night against the Flyers at American Airlines Center, and their goals would make the difference in the 3-1 victory.
Antti Niemi put up 19 saves here, while Jamie Benn put up an empty-netter. He’s got 20 goals on the year, which leads the league.
Taylor Hall, LW, Edmonton Oilers: If you like high-scoring hockey games--and you’re not a Rangers fan--this was the one for you. Hall posted two goals and two assists in the Oilers’ 7-5 victory over New York at Rexall Place last night. Lauri Korpikoski will also remember this one; he put up his first NHL hat trick on six shots.
Hall put in the game-winning goal in the third, 12 seconds after the Rangers had tied it up at 5-5.
Eddie Lack, G, Carolina Hurricanes: Lack was on his game last night against the Ducks at Honda Center. He managed 31 saves on 32 shots, helping his team to a 5-1 victory.
Jeff Skinner was also instrumental here. He had a hat trick on four shots, the third of his NHL career.
The victory halts a five-game road losing streak for Carolina, who sit at 11-14-4 on the season.
